SCHOOLS THAT LEARN TASK 11

TASK:

ROLES:
STAR:
Hello everyone!!!! I am Elena Torres Soto from the group Flower Power and I am the star of the task of this week. My role this week  has consisted of explain the different connections that exist between the complexity at schools, the relationships at school and the topic of school that learn.
From my point of view this has been one of the most difficult tasks we have done since the connections were very difficult to find and we have spent a lot of time until we reached the right answer. Fortunately the day of the presentation was not so bad as I thought, since I could explain it in a clear and simple way. Moreover, I did not have to make the presentation in my own which helped me a lot to be more confidence and relaxed.

Despite all the difficulties we had with this task, I think that we could be able to get a grat result thanks to all of us and our grat effort.

STAR:
Good morning everyone! I am Rocío Muñoz and this week I have been one of the star, yes one! because in this task we have to display two stars, so the other one is Elena. This task that is called “School that learn” was related to connections within education and their complexity and all these links have to be drawn in a connection map.

On Monday Linda explained us the activity as every week and then my group, the flower power raffled all the roles. I was very nervous since I did not want to be the star because of my shyness.

On Wendnesday Elena and me had to explain in a different way the structures that belongs to education which are complexity at school, schools that learn and relationships. This task has been a bit difficult to explain because there are a lot of connections among each other  and the map was a bit messy but we achieved!

I honestly was not nervous on the day of the exposition since I have already talked in public many times and also I was with Elena. However, this activity has been different to expose  because we explained the same nine times (each group was rotating, changing all the time and listening to all the stars individually) so I finished very tired as the rest of the stars.

At the end I think our display was fairly good because Linda congratulated us and the other groups too and that´s all.

FACILITATOR:

Hello everyone! I'm Paula Martínez García and this week I'm the facilitator.
On Monday Linda explained us what was this task about. We had to create relationships between some concepts. We went running to the library to start working. It was really hard to concentrate there because everyone was talking so we decided to meet in the afternoon.
I brought some sweets like a snack for my mates and we started working.
It was a bit stressful due to the fact that we were so tired but finally on Tuesday we finally finish our mind map. We can do everything if we work hard!!!!

CURATOR- FARMER:

Hi!! I´m the curator of the task of this week, my name is Veronica and here I´ll show you the resources we have used:

As you can observe we only needed the information the teacher provided us due to the fact that the objective of  this task was to find the connexions between the two new documents uploaded   this week and the documents of complexity we have already seen some weeks before.

ANALYST:
Hello flowers! I’m Paula Martínez Plaza and this week I’ve been the analyst of my group.
In this task, we have had some problems because of the tiredness. In some moments we did not how to continue but finally we have tried to make the activity as good as possible.
The best part of the activity has been when we have found the relationships between the three documents and also, we have laughed a lot due to the desperation.
The worst part has been when we had to read three documents and find the connections to write the speech.
On the other hand, we have learnt a lot about the complexity of the school because it is so influenced by many relations among peers, teachers, parents, technology, new methodologies, and so on.
From my point of view, we need to conserve the positivism and the desire to learn and we need to improve our nerve and also, the effectiveness to do the tasks.

Finally, I want to say that from the very beginning of the course we have gotten very well together and I am very happy with the tasks that we have been doing during this subject.

TRANSLATOR:
- Complexity at school: Education is a complex context where you can find many facts such as diversity and redundancy or emerging knowledge.
- Schools that learn: This terms involves three structures (Constant changes, coordination structures teacher's organization) that are linked and this structures are changing all the time.
- Connections : It means the state of being connected. In this task we made a mind map were all the structures  worked were linked.
- Structures: Agents that are organized and coordinated among each other.
- Organization: The way you order something for example in this case, it is within education.

JOURNALIST:

Hello! I’m Berta and I have been the journalist this week.
On Monday, Linda explained us the new task “Schools organized, Schools that learn”. At first sight, it doesn’t seemed very difficult for us due to the fact some texts that we had to read for this task, we had already read them for another task and we understood them very well.

After Linda’s explanation we decided to go to the Luis Vives library because we couldn’t concentrate since the class was very hot and also there was a lot of noise.

In the afternoon, we decided to book a class in the Nebrija’s Library where we read all together the texts in order to make a brainstorming after reading. It was very difficult for us because we didn’t know how to start doing the connexion map.

As we were a bit overwhelmed, the facilitator bought for all the group food and she sweetened us the afternoon but at 20:00 p.m we were blocked and we decided to finish working and to go home.

On Tuesday,  we ate at the university to not waste time and be able to study in the afternoon due to we are very overwhelmed with the exams. We finish the connexion map at 17:30 more or less.
On Wednesday, we present all the connexion maps and our stars did the presentation very well !!

I have commented the Blog of the Architeachers group and also I have commented the blog http://maestradecorazon.com/  where the author talks about some innovations that we can include in schools such as the ICT.

REFLEXION TASK 11

In this task we have learned the different connections that are in the education, complexity at school, schools that learn and relationships.
First of all in the point of the complexity at schools, we have learned that the complexity at school is teaching and learning and it depend on the organization and relationships between teachers. The knowledge will emerge from this connections. So within this interconnections of levels, knowledge emerges. The different types of knowledge that emerge here are: context knowledge( depending on the cirscunstances, the school, the culture,… ) emerging knowledge (which is connected with relationship structure because it appears through connections with teacher-students, family, peers…), randomness and determinism order which are connected with diversity and redundancy (because randomness and diversity want to innovate but redundancy and determinism order prefer carrying on in a traditional way).

In the point of schools that learn, the different structures are changing all the time. Within this connection we have seen constant changes because as you know education is in a constant change and we have done a connection with diversity and balanzing randomness because all of them want to innovate.
Also we have learned that coordination structures, in which teachers are elements of organizations and they obtain new knowledge in order to improve the organization and efficiency, is linked with teacher s organization because on the one hand through years of experiencies and years of working teachers have achieved success and have improved their teaching technique and on the other hand teachers are aware of learning processes and they know that each problem is an apportunity to learn something new.

JOURNALIST:

Hello Flowers! I’m Paula Martínez Plaza and this week I’ve been the journalist of my group.

For this task, we only had to work on Tuesday in class because it was very short and also, easy for us. In addition, on Monday we did not have classes due to it was the “Labor Day”.

First, our teacher Linda showed us a video made for her where she explained us what was the concept of PLE (Personal Learning Environments). After that, we had to reflect about the definition and then, we had to choose three members of our group to analyse their PLE.
Naomi, Vero and I were the chosen ones, so with the help of the other classmates we had to select a picture which defined us and then, we explored a program called “Thinklink” when you could add information about you. We put information about Youtube, Instagram, Facebook, our family, our peers and so on because thanks to them we had learnt many things about life.
We are reaching the end of this course and although we are tired, we are happy with the work we have done!!!!

I have commented two interesting blogs:

CURATOR - FARMER:

HI FLOWERS!! I’m Aintzane again! This week I’m the curator farmer of my group!!

This task has been different, I mean, Linda explained it on Wednesday and we did it at that moment, but it has been nice.
We have learnt about PLE (Personal Learning Environment), but also about Thinglink, it’s a ‘free interactive imagine tool’.
I wish every week were like this!!

SEE YOU NEXT WEEK, LITTEL FLOWERS!

FACILITATOR:
Hi everybody! I am Elena Torres Soto and I am the facilitator of this week.
My role this week consisted of organize and coordinate every member of my gorup during the task. I enjoyed a lot this role since I have to encourage my group, and personally I love to help people. However the this week we had to do the task in very few time so we were a bit stressed at first but I tried to encourage them so much as I could.
Despite of the few time we organized in avery good way and I think we finally got very good results, we enjoyed it a lot.
I hope we carry on working so good until the moment. Let´s go Flower Power!!!

ANALYST:

Hi everybody! I am Naomi and this week I am the analyst. We have all worked the same in this task because we divided the work equally (plus the roles of each one)

I have been as fair as possible while doing the rubric and I have to say that I am really happy working with this group because from my point of view we are all really hard workers and we rarely disagree. I also have to say that everybody in this group can contribute with an idea openly.

LEADERSHIP, TASK 9

TASK

SPEECH

Hello people, how are you? I’m going to introduce myself: I’m Paula Martinez and I'm working at the Flower Power public school in the countryside, near Murcia. Our school is not big enough, we have only one class for each course of primary education and each course have a tutor. Also, if we have any doubt we can go to our advisor. The facilities are formed by a playground, a gym, a small pool and a canteen.
We are starting to work by PBL and we are starting to take time for the emotions.

I want to be the leader of this school due to I want to improve the educational system and the academic performance of our students.

Ladies and gentlemen, the rules are going to be created by and for those within the school, searching for the best present and future for our students.

We dream of getting in touch with our students to create a new type of leadership in our school, which is totally the opposite of the authoritarian leadership.
From our point of view a change is necessary and you’ll ask Why a change is necessary? Because we are accustomed to listen the word LEADER and automatically we think about a person who impose ideas without listening others opinions, he/she is insensitive to race and gender and for him/her people must be forced to work.

On the other hand, we don’t promote punishment such as the transactional leader. If you are wrong, we do not punish you, we will help you to see the mistake and improve your work.

A transformational leader would be fine but maybe in the future when we achieve some of our objectives, not now.

I’m going to struggle to change your opinion about the concept of LEADER because we are fed up with this situation, THAT’S WHY I’M HERE. I’m here to:

-GUARANTEE that I’m going to listen the concerns of everyone.
-GUARANTEE that I’m going to understand all of you.
-GUARANTEE that we are going to work together in order to reach goals easily.
-GUARANTEE that I’m going to create a family atmosphere.
-GUARANTEE that I’m going to respect the contribution of each member.

All of you are going to have the same opportunities, opportunities to participate opportunities to communicate your concerns and everything in a safe environment.

Our thought is based on moral principles for that reason we want vocational and professional teachers.

We can’t forget our students’ opinions. We want to make their school life unforgettable! They will remind us for what they have truly learned, not for what we have imposed them. In addition, we have reflect about some ideas that we are sure, our student will love it:

1. Ask them about some actual topics in which they are interested in.
2. Ask them in what type of physical activities are interested in, such as basket, football, jumping the rope…
3. Each month we can do a coexistence for helping shy guys, also to know well each other and sharing experiences.
4. We want to remove textbooks and we are going to use more ICT.
5. We want to introduce an ecological garden, too.

We want to help our students to get the best of themselves, help them to develop their own personality, to be different and original. Not all of us stand out in the same way but all of us are unique, we are all worth for something! We will let your creativity and fantasy grow and everyone will know it.

WE WILL AWAKE THE BEST PART OF YOU, DON´T BE AFRAID AND BE YOURSELF.

DON’T VOTE FOR ME, VOTE FOR YOU.

REFLECTION

This task consisted of giving a speech as if you were the candidate to get the leader position. The goal was to improve the school in complex institutions trying to do the best of ourselves.

From our point of view, the participative leader was the best leadership because we found it balanced and not extremist at all. The others did not convince us because the authoritarian leader is a person who impose ideas without listening others opinions, he/she is insensitive to race and gender and for him/her people must be forced to work. The transactional leader promotes punishment and the transformational leader would be fine but maybe in the future when we achieve some of our objectives, not now.

ROLES
Star

Hello Flowers! I’m Paula Martínez Plaza and this week I’ve been the star!

On Monday, I was so expectant when we divided up the roles because something in my inner thoughts was saying that I was going to be the star, so it was. We had to make a speech and on Wednesday I had to expose it during ten minutes as if I wanted to be the leader of the school.

At the evening, my classmates and I started to write the speech and from our point of view, we did quite well. Furthermore, we did a Powtoon, which is an interactive video, for the campaign.

On Wednesday, I was nervous but at the same time excited and motivated. After some groups, it was my turn, my partners put some balloons around the class and I gave my speech. In this moment, I felt strange because I did something that I did I never thought I could do due to I’m very shy. At the end, some of my classmates congratulated me and our teacher said that all of the groups were saying many beautiful things about education.

Finally, I’m very proud with the result of this task because it has been a very cooperative work and they have helped and encouraged me a lot.

Journalist

Hi!!! I am Elena Torres Soto and this week I am the journalist of my group Flower Power. My duty in this role is to tell you what we have done to obtain the results of this task.

The task of this week has been very interested since we have learned the different types of leadership styles and how they should act to contribute to a better education style. We have been working a lot and this week we haven’t had any problema since we were very well organized.

The star of this task was Paula who was a great candidate for the elections and I strongly think that she talked during all the discourse in a very motivating way.

We enjoyed it a lot!!!

Facilitator

Hi everyone! I’m Berta Tornel and I’m the facilitator of this week.

Our objective this week was to present a candidate to be the leader of a school.
The candidate was the star, in our group Paula Martínez Plaza. To do the task we had to read a document about the different leadership styles and choose one. We decided to do the participative style which consists in a leader that is above everyone, but that doesn't impose his rules. We believe this leader is a great leader because he really seeks the best for the people.

After knowing which style we divided the work. Some of us took charged on the artistic things and the other finding ideas to do the speech. Making the speech was the worst thing of this task because we were blocked often due to we wanted to do our best and because we were all the time thinking that the speech was too short.

As a good facilitator, I was there to motivate my group and I brought some sweets that they loved. I help in everything I could. Our group has a very good connection and we work very well together. I’m very happy with my group.

The day of the elections, our star Paula, did an amazing speech, obviously she is our winner. What strike my attention was that almost all the group choose the participative style except Starfish group that chose transactional and Sparcers 2.0 that choose transformational.

To be honest, I loved this task because it was no so difficult and we worked very well.

Translator

Hi everyone! I'm Paula Martínez García and this is my second time as translator, so my objective is to tell you what are the new concepts we hace learned this week.

Authoritarian leaders: Those who manipulate people, they are insensitive to race and gender, people must be forced yo work.

Participative leaders: Totally the opposit of authoritarian leader. Workers are treat with dignity. The motivation and comunication is very important to create more productivity. They work in groups and it's like a family.

Transcational leaders: It balance the dynamics of balancing the needs and productivity of the organization with the needs and productivity of the organization with the needs, personality and dispositions of people doing the work. They reflect the reality of the workplace and continues to be the predominant model in most organizations.

Tranformational leaders: Is a moral leadership where they create an environment where everyone is empowered to fulfill their needs and become a member of a community.

Leadership: The position of a leader who guides a group.

Curator - Farmer

Hello everyone !!!! My name is Rocío Muñoz. In this task I am the curator farmer so my role consist of collecting all the links that we have used in our work. In addition I have added a video which was showed  the last Wednesday to help our star Paula to impose her ideas.

The document that we used is on the internet and is called "Leadership Styles." (Encyclopedia of Educational Leadership and Administration) as the name of the task and all the information was collected from this document.

Finally on Wednesday we distributed some brochures and I have included the link of the page used too.

Analyst

Hi!! I’m Aintzane and I am the analyst of this week!

The task of this week has been about leadership. We had to do a campaign, so, on Wednesday our star Paula, gave a speech in order to contribute to a better education style. She was very nervous but she did it truly amazing. We have worked hard this week, we did brochures and paper flowers, we bought balloons in which we could read “VOTE FOR PAULA” or, “FLOWER POWER”. At the end, when Paula finished her speech, we put a funny powtoon.

In sum, I think that this week has been a good week. We have worked a lot, but we have also had funny. I hope to continue working like this.
See you next week flowers!!!

STOP-MOTIONING BASICS FOR A NEW EDUCATIONAL LAW, TASK 8

Task:

Roles:

Star:

Hi everyone! I am Vero, the star of the task this week.
This time was our moment to make an stop-motion about new laws in education and then  present it to the class as we were participants of eurovision, so I was the presenter of my group.
I dindn't know I had to present until the moment . In addition, I was the first of all the groups and I didn't know exactly what I had to do so I felt a bit nervious, however I relaxed immediately due to the fact that it was the second time i was the star and i'm starting to be adapted to make public presentations.
After all the videos were presented, we pass to give the puntuation to the others and I was the spokenperson, something  that make me feel in compromise with the rest of groups because although the mark is a decision of all of us I dindt like to value my partners in public.
Leaving out this last moment I have enjoy the role of star in this session.

Translator:

Stop motion: a filming technique in which successive positions of objects or people are photographed to produce the appearance of movement.

Decalogue: a basic set of rules carrying binding authority.

Advertisement: A notice, such as a poster designed to attract public attention.

Law: a rule, usually made by a government, that is used to order the way in which a society behaves.

Eurovision: A network of European television production administered by the European Broadcasting Union. In this program a singer from each country represents his country with a song. After the performances each country has to punctuate the other ones depending on which one they liked the most.

Facilitator:

Hi everyone! I’m Aintzane, and this week I’m the facilitator of my group FLOWERPOWER!!
This week has been too hard, because we have spent a lot of time taking photos in order to create a STOP-MOTION.
When we met on Monday we tried to do this task with drawing, but it was a failure, so on Tuesday we completely change the style of our work and we started taking photos ourselves.
When we finished taking all the photos, the stop-motion was almost finished, but we had a problem, all our work was erased. We started again, but the program didn’t work well. I tried to motivate my colleagues but we were so tired, we couldn’t understand the reason why it was not solved.
Finally, we finished the work at 02:30 a.m , and on Wednesday we saw our videos in class. It was not the best, but we are so proud of our work.

Analyst:

Hi classmates! My name is Rocio Muñoz and this week I am going to tell if we had some problems, etc so as you can see I am the analyst.
To star we had a lot of problems because of the dificulty of the activity, we also spent a lot of time  making the movie with our pictures and finally we finish too late.
But at the end we could finish the task so  I really love our presentation in the work
although we could not win our little Eurovision.
We must go on working in this way because we organize very well.

CURATOR-FARMER:

Hi everybody!!! I am Elena Torres Soto and  this week I am the curator farmer of my group Flower Pmy role is to collect all the links and webpae have taken for reference and used in the work.
The information we have used isa ll form the document “Decálogo ideas-fuerza del Documento de Bases para una nueva Ley de Educación”. After Reading this documetn we just use our imagination to reflecta ll th ideas in a stop-motion format.

Journalist:

Hello everybody, I am Naomi, the journalist of this week. As the journalist, I have to tell you what we have done in the task of this week.
We had to film a stop motion video about 10 ideas in order to represent that an ideal education in the public school is possible.
We met on Monday and we talked about how could we represent the stop motion. First we tried drawing on a blackboard but as we had just one day and a half for recording everything we thought that it would be better to film ourselves.
So, on Tuesday we met again and we stayed the whole afternoon and some ours at night because our editor did not work well (our video was deleted more than 4 times)
On Wednesday, Veronica, the star of this task, showed the class our video.
It has been a hard task to make, but also very original and interesting.

I also commented a pair of blogs I considered they were really nice:
